This Cookie Policy explains how Innovar Legacy Media (“Innovar”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.innovarlegacymedia.co.za (the “Website”), and the choices available to you. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website, used to make the site work, remember information, or understand how it is used. Websites can also use similar browser-based technologies, such as session storage and local storage, which work in a comparable way but are cleared at different times — for example, session storage is cleared when you close your browser tab.
3. How we currently use cookies and browser storage
As at the date of this policy:
- Strictly necessary: the public-facing Website does not currently set cookies for a shopping cart or visitor login session, since it does not require visitor accounts. Standard WordPress security cookies may be set only for logged-in administrators of the Website, not for visitors.
- Functional (session storage, not a cookie): when you arrive at our Website via a marketing link — for example, from a campaign with UTM parameters — your browser’s session storage temporarily remembers which page you landed on, which campaign referred you, and the page you came from. If you then complete one of our quote or contact forms, this information is included so our team understands how you found us. This data stays in your browser and is cleared when you close the tab; it is only sent to us if you submit a form.
- Third-party font delivery: our Website loads typefaces (Montserrat and Open Sans) directly from Google Fonts. Loading a font this way sends your device’s IP address and browser information to Google as part of the standard web request, in line with Google’s own privacy practices. We do not control this data flow beyond selecting the fonts used.
- Analytics and advertising: our Website is built to support analytics tooling, such as Google Tag Manager, that can track interactions like button clicks and form starts, so we can understand how the site is used. As at the date of this policy, no analytics or advertising tool is actively connected, and no analytics or advertising cookies are set. If and when we activate analytics or advertising tracking, we will update this policy and, where required by law, request your consent before doing so via a cookie consent banner.
4. Categories of cookies, for future reference
If we activate additional cookies in future, they will generally fall into these categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the Website to function; cannot be switched off.
- Functional — remember choices you make to provide enhanced features.
- Performance/analytics — help us understand how visitors use the Website, usually in aggregate.
- Marketing/advertising — used to measure the effectiveness of advertising, or show relevant ads elsewhere.
